TermPlus launches the Money Mindset Index to uncover how Australians really think about their money
New annual research initiative asks: could my money be doing more?

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – Australian fixed-term investment platform, TermPlus, today launched the TermPlus Money Mindset Index – an annual research initiative designed to track how everyday Australians think about, manage, and feel about putting their money to work.

The Index launches with a nationwide survey open to all Australians. The findings will be published in full in July 2026, with the Index intended to run annually as a barometer of Australian financial sentiment.

The question every Australian is asking

At the heart of the Money Mindset Index is one question Australians quietly ask themselves every day: could my money be doing more?

The survey explores what Australians are actually doing with their investable assets, what their financial goals look like, what barriers are standing in the way of their money reaching its potential, and how confident they feel navigating today’s investment landscape.

Topics covered include financial life stage, investment approaches and asset classes held, attitudes toward risk and return, where Australians turn for financial research, and what they believe their money should ideally be achieving for them.

“We built the Money Mindset Index because there is a real conversation happening across Australia about income, returns, and what it actually means to make your money work,” said Dean Weinbren, Managing Executive of TermPlus. “We want to shine a light on where Australians genuinely stand – not just the headline sentiment, but the habits, barriers, and aspirations behind it. This is research that matters to real people.”

Participating Australians can also win

As part of the launch, participants who complete the survey will receive a personalised Money Mindset Score, and will also stand a chance to win a Flight Centre voucher valued at $5,000. The competition closes 31 May 2026, with the winner announced on or around 15 June 2026. Terms and conditions apply.
